Test Technician

We are looking to recruit a Test Technician at Fabrinet UK, this role reports into the Operations Manager and Team Leader

The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for diagnosing production fails and fix boards in a timely manner to meet production requirements plus general technical support to the production team

 Key responsibilities include:-

  •  Diagnose production fails
  • Fix boards in a timely manner to meet production needs

  • Support MRB activity

  • Manage difficult to fix boards and seek help from other parts of the company/customer as necessary

  • Provide technical support to the team by resolving technical issues and supporting implementation of engineering change

  • Provide operational support to the Team Leader regarding measurement and reporting of yields and main detractors and declare and help resolve issues that affect output and quality

  • Support continuous improvement processes by suggesting improvements to the test and diag processes, i.e. stability, coverage test times etc

  • Manage Customer returns – diagnose/repair and assist in root cause analysis of returns.   Complete actions to make improvements as required and keep a log of all diagnosis and rework on returns.   Be an active part of the team resolving delivered quality issues

  • Support  Manufacturing Associates and Test Operators with training and coaching

  • Manage the technical interface with customers, be the first point of call re technical issues and plan and deliver solution with the customer

  • Be the first point of call within the team to resolve technical queries and test break downs

The successful candidate will have:-

  •  A relevant qualification is Electronic Engineering, i.e. BTEC or higher

  • A proven track record in Electronic Manufacturing

  • Test application experience

  • Excellent problem solving abilities

  • Good influencing and communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, Finisher/Completer

  • Good organisational skills and be a self-starter

  • Tenacity and the desire to succeed

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
